One of Green Bay’s most significant contributors could miss several weeks of game action due to an apparent wrist injury, according to head coach Linc Darner via the Green Bay Press-Gazette.
McCloud missed Green Bay’s 112-46 demolition of Division III UW-Stout at the Kress Center on Tuesday night and was spotted wearing a cast on his right hand on the bench.
According to Scott Venci of the Press-Gazette, McCloud practiced on Monday but was unable to play Tuesday night.

It is possible that he was just being held out to give him some more time to heal rather than playing in a meaningless non-Division I game against a hapless opponent. But it’s also possible, according to Darner, that McCloud misses a significant amount of time.
“It’s a major concern,” he told the newspaper. “It could be six weeks concern. It could be two days. Don’t know.”
Green Bay plays its next four games on the road, including a brutal two game stretch this weekend against high major opponents. The Phoenix take on Creighton in Omaha on Friday night and then face #9 Michigan State on Sunday afternoon. Green Bay then travels to Evansville on December 22nd and to Milwaukee for the Horizon League opener on December 29th against McCloud’s former team.
McCloud has been a major contributor for Green Bay this season ranking third on the team in points per game (13.4) and second in assists per game (1.7). He’s done most of his damage as a sixth man and ranks third on the team in minutes per game (23.1) despite starting only one game.
He has scored in double figures in 6 of his 9 games played including a career high 23 points in a win against Morehead State and 21 in Green Bay’s 100-92 victory over previously unbeaten Belmont.
McCloud also has been taking care of the basketball this season as a ball handler, ranking 3rd in the Horizon League in turnover percentage and 5th in offensive rating.
“Some other guys are going to have to step up,” Darner told the Press-Gazette.
